What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
December 2024 is where it bottomed out, at $1.99. 48 discounts in the 7 years on record. They run about 70 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today's $4.99 at 75 percent off still sits 151 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
On value it sits in the top 1 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 90 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 96 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Rise of Nations: Extended Edition ($19.99, scores 88) beats it on value, while it beats Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III ($39.99, scores 2).
Critics scored it 82. Players sit 9 points higher at 91 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.
13 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written December 2023 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 81 percent of the 4,465 reviews written there were positive, against 91 percent overall, and those are 14 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 31.9 hours. Doing everything runs 80, 2.5 times as long.
6 years after release it still had 564 people in it at once.

What players say
Its simple, its addictive. Played this back in the Army barracks in 1996 stringing phone lines down the hallway.
it's command & conquer, i mean, what is there not to like? But seriously, if you enjoyed the Classic Command & conquer from back in 95 like i did.. this is for you.. if you want an easy rerun of the entire game.. set the mode on easy and it actually really will be easy to steamroll thru the game.. which is especially great for those of you who may have found the original a tad to difficult to run all the way to the...
pathfinding too is terrible if i tell them to go north they kill themself on a turret in the south bla bla bla you get it not ♥♥♥ fun

Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection scores 84/100 on the BANG Score (worth it). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1213210/command-conquer-remastered-collectionThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 15, price as of Sep 24.
