What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
November 2023 is where it bottomed out, at $1.99. 50 discounts in the 6 years on record. They run about 85 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today's $3.99 at 90 percent off still sits 101 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
It is pricier than 93 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 81 percent. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. House of the Dying Sun ($19.99, scores 49) and Elite Dangerous ($19.99, scores 45) both outscore it.
Critics scored it 79, but players land 14 points lower at 65 percent. The reviews were kinder than the room.
Players rate it 65 percent positive over its lifetime, but the last 30 days run 46 percent. Something recent has soured the room. Of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 14 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written September 2025 to September 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 7 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 117 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 28 percent of the 5,231 reviews written there were positive, against 65 percent overall, and those are 21 percent of everything written about it.
9.1 hours to finish it, 38 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 4.2 times the campaign.
At 9.1 hours it is a handheld-sized game, and Valve rates it Deck Verified.

What players say
Game doesnt launch after the anticheat runs. Have spent hours trawling forums trying every suggestion around. Update: If you've tried just about everything to get it to work, it may be steam itself that is the problem. For my fix, I had to restrict the core usage of steam (Set Affinity in Task Manager). A problem caused by steam that steam have no comms about apparently; great job.
EA servers are pretty trash and I wouldn't recommend the game if you have motion sickness. My friends and I couldn't even play properly in a party and there would be constant disconnections. Hopefully they fixed all the issues by now but considering there still isn't a proper pc port for Jedi Survivor I doubt it. Wish they'd fix the game because the concept was cool but otherwise I'd recommend saving your money.
I remember this game being awesome when it came out. Used my flight stick and throttle for the entire story~ I highly recommend playing this with controller and even more so with flight stick. Now for all of you who bought this and it doesnt launch!!!! i have something for you! !!!(USE AT YOUR OWN RISK as you are messing with cpu cores)!!! each of these should be pasted into LAUNCH OPTIONS Copy the inside of the...

STAR WARS™: Squadrons scores 15/100 on the BANG Score (a skip). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1222730/star-wars-squadronsThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 15, price as of Sep 24.
