What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
The lowest price on record is $4.39, set in August 2026. It has been discounted 35 times in the 3 years tracked here, typically at 43 percent off, with about 4 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 6 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 4 weeks.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 3 percent on value. It is pricier than 91 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 93 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Thief Simulator ($19.99, scores 67) beats it on value, while it beats Lucius II ($19.99, scores 8).
Steam's global achievement data says about 17 percent of players ever finish it. On a 12-hour game, that is a lot of paid-for hours most people never see. Players rate it 88 percent positive over its lifetime, but the last 30 days run 77 percent. Something recent has soured the room. 30 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written July 2024 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 49 percent of the 578 reviews written there were positive, against 88 percent overall, and those are 9 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 12 hours. Doing everything runs 27, 2.3 times as long.

What players say
Essentially the same as the first one, in the grand tradition of Knights of the Old Republic II or Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The most important addition from the first game is the ability to temporarily neutralize the residents and homes of the places you're burglarizing. I'm torn on this: on the one hand, the fact that you couldn't deal with the guards or tenants in any way other than flight or hiding in...
The sequel to the first Thief Simulator is so fking stupid its insane. You would expect from a sequel to have improvements across the board right? Well in this case THERE ARE NONE. Its the same game with the same gameplay loop and tools etc There are only like small improvements that u barely notice. The one thing that set me off was play the first heist and and having to wait 5 fking minutes for cops to leave if...

Thief Simulator 2 scores 66/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1332720/thief-simulator-2The BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 19, price as of Sep 24.
