Seeing the negative reviews made me avoid this game since it came out. Those reviews came from people who played either the original or the PSP version and feel like this remaster doesn't live up to them. That's fair. As my first Tactics Ogre experience, I can only compare it to Final Fantasy Tactics. The main problem with Tactics Ogre is that the battles are too long. I really wanted to like this game, but.. meh. The combat is getting really tedious after a while. A couple rounds of getting everyone in range, then focusing down one enemy after another with mostly basic attacks and the occasional debuff.
