The value story
It has never been cheaper than $3.99. That was February 2026. It has been discounted 23 times in the 4 years tracked here, typically at 50 percent off, with about 7 weeks between sales.
It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 98 percent. The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes ($29.99, scores 51) outscores it, and so does SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption ($18.99, scores 11). Both sit among its closest neighbours.
Steam's global achievement data puts 44 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 15. This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 2 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2025 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 27 percent of the 250 reviews written there were positive, against 55 percent overall, and those are 7 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 7.1 hours. Doing everything runs 18, 2.6 times as long.
At 7.1 hours it is a handheld-sized game, and Valve rates it Deck Verified.

This game wasn't bad the story was good the characters weren't ass good to play as the last games. The graphics are not bad think they could have done better with some of the faces. There were a lot of bugs like my mouse wouldn't work on the fuze box puzzles and my controller wouldn't work at all also the camera would freeze at some angles as if it was on a bit string. the game is decently long took me just over 8...
It's a yes from me, with a caveat. It's the weakest game out of the lineup, though the story is very cool. Feels like it drags on a bit while the other games had you pretty committed and engaged all the way through. Of course being a modern game, you get some forced inclusivity and diversity, luckily it's not the centre of attention. Not sure what's up with all the frame drops, if my PC is acting up or the game just...
This game shifts from the prior Dark Pictures "interactive movie" format to a heavier focus on exploration & light puzzle solving. Unfortunately, this slows the pacing to a crawl as players are forced to stumble around with some truly awful 3d person controls for extended periods of time until they reach the next cutscene. Add in a disappointing plot with largely uninteresting characters, and the whole thing feels...
