Bright Lights of Svetlov is a short, story-focused first person quest about a Soviet family facing harsh trials. Set in a fictional provincial town, it carefuly recreates the atmosphere and vibe of mid 1980s.

The atmosphere is so accurately conveyed, I could practically smell the interiors as someone who doesn't quite remember Soviet '80s, but was conscious by the early '90s. The story is more emotionally impactful than those of many games that are exponentially longer. Well worth experiencing.

This is an absolutely useless and meaningless game. The Soviet vibe is cool, but everything else is bad. The plot is unintelligible, the gameplay is boring, and there are a lot of bugs, including lighting and interaction bugs, forced pixel hunting, and vicious movements. Yeah, the real story itself is important, but the game does nothing to tell it in a playable way.
