The value story

July 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $11.99. It has been discounted 28 times in the 3 years tracked here, typically at 30 percent off, with about 5 weeks between sales. Today's $11.99 at 40 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.

Against its own genre it lands in the top 38 percent on value. It is pricier than 76 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, LONESTAR ($12.99, scores 73) beats it on value, while it beats Roguebook ($24.99, scores 60).

This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 7 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2023 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 65 percent of the 619 reviews written there were positive, against 83 percent overall, and those are 8 percent of everything written about it.

HowLongToBeat players log 10.9 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 48, 4.4 times as much.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 10.9 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

What players say

A solid 8/10 for me. I personally consider it one of the best deckbuilders on steam. Took me ~150hrs to finally beat the game and 100% it, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. The difficulty of it doesn't feel punishing with the length of the runs and there is a high variety of combinations that feel really fun to experiment around with from a gameplay perspective. There's a very good balance in this game between...

It's pretty easy to learn, and not particularly hard to complete. Pretty fun, but maybe not if you expect something hardcore.

I don't like this game because they don't do predictions themselves for damage and it's too time consuming to play this manually calculating everything. Slay the spire doesn't have this sort of issue as there's far less going on in a round. Play monster train instead if you're also not interested in calculating everything else out yourself every round.
