What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
July 2024 is where it bottomed out, at $2.99. Its cuts run 80 percent off as a rule. There have been 38 in the 4 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart. Today's $8.99 at 70 percent off still sits 201 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 5 percent on value. It is pricier than 96 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 97 percent. It outscores the games it most resembles, including Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ ($8.99, scores 28) and CRSED: Cuisine Royale (free, scores 48).
Critics scored it 82. Players sit 8 points higher at 90 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.
Of the 799 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 15 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2026 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 62 percent of the 4,186 reviews written there were positive, against 90 percent overall, and those are 9 percent of everything written about it. It carries the aggressive kind of in-app purchases, and the score already docks it for that. The sticker price is where the spending starts.
HowLongToBeat players log 8.4 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 121, 14 times as much.
Still 855 concurrent players, 4 years in.

What players say
This used to be my favorite game oat when I was a kid an the only reason I bought a PS4 in the first place. I love the GW saga, played both games on PS3 and PS4 for over 1k hours each. After switching to PC, though, I saw how the game I loved so much had been ruined lol First off the game is dead, there's barely anyone playing in any of the regions. This used to be a problem in console too, but in PC is way worse...
i love this game and have played it since launch but EA has simply neglected this game to the point where a group of users(including myself) are simply unable to load the game at all, rendering it unplayable. Begging EA to fix this game WILL NOT WORK since the community has been doing that for years at this point. If you want to play this game, which I love to death and is one of the greatest shooters of all time...
Player reviews from Steam: the most helpful all-time, plus the newest that clear the same quality bar, with the hours each player had put in when they wrote it. The mix of Recommended and Not recommended follows the game's Steam ratio. Rotates daily. Opinions are theirs.

Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2: Deluxe Edition scores 66/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1922560/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-2-deluxe-editionThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 15, price as of Sep 23.
