What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
July 2024 is where it bottomed out, at $2.99. 52 discounts in the 6 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today's $8.99 at 70 percent off still sits 201 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
It is pricier than 86 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 67 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2: Deluxe Edition ($8.99, scores 66) beats it on value, while it beats Counter-Strike Nexon (free, scores 17).
This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 20 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written July 2025 to September 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 7 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 145 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 36 percent of the 2,938 reviews written there were positive, against 71 percent overall, and those are 19 percent of everything written about it. It sells extras on top of the sticker price (currency); the score docks it lightly for that.
5.1 hours to finish it, 165 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 32 times the campaign.

What players say
the game is alive and has a population on servers most hours of the day (except night EU, really) but it isn't worth it. If you haven't played previous titles then there's nothing for you here. If you've played previous titles and are hoping that this is the magic of the older games just "newer" then there's nothing for you here either, this game is the last in the series because it's somehow far worse than the...
I wouldn't really pefer anyone to get Plant Vs. Zombie Battle for Neighborville. To start, Plant Vs. Zombie Battle for Neighborville is a huge downfall from Garden Warfare 1 and 2, Ofcourse they might have a few bugs, but the bugs in Neighborville is very noticable and more common than Garden Warfare, I could have spot some bugs within the first time I played this game, in the Garden Warfare games I would probably...
alot of good mechanics added but lacks in character diversity like PVZ GW 1+2 and cant choose which side to play for ops mode like previous game which is kinda lame. the secrets and trying to 100% the world locations was fun to do, sadly I did it on console and since EA is a horrible company, theirs no cross progression... Anyways its a good game with ups and down to it.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ scores 28/100 on the BANG Score (a skip). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1262240/plants-vs-zombies-battle-for-neighborvilleThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 15, price as of Sep 24.
