More about Moon Mystery
11 of the 480 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,422 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 164 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 3 of the 11 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 54 percent of the 142 reviews written there were positive, against 65 percent overall, and those are 26 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
Moon Mystery is what happens when a few Interstellar fans decide to make a video game. You spend maybe ten, fifteen minutes actually on the moon before you're bouncing between dimensions shutting down these massive pillars, and the game never bothers explaining why. Who's this guy, why is he sick, what do the crystals do, how do we even know this is a robot breeding ground. Zero context, all the time. I get that...

Moon Mystery is an interesting game that is ultimately defeated by its own ambition. This indie FPS clearly wanted to take a shot at the big leagues by including all the fancy features of AAA shooters, but unfortunately, it spread itself too thin in the process. Combat: Competent. The shooting is satisfying, the weapons are well-animated, and while the upgrade system is basic, it works well enough. Enemy AI...
Game is ok overall, but performance is terrible. I had laptop with 3070 and at some places FPS were at 5-10 even on minimal graphics. Now I got 5070ti laptop and on medium it's barely playable. I understand small studios can't spend too much resources on optimization, but come on... I think on 5090 it would still ask for more and stutter...
