The value story
The lowest price on record is $6.99, set in November 2023. 32 discounts in the 3 years on record. They run about 30 percent off, roughly 5 weeks apart. Today's $7.49 at 50 percent off still sits 7 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
Value puts it in the top 6 percent of the games it competes with. It is better reviewed than 94 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Into the Breach ($14.99, scores 86) beats it on value, while it beats Die in the Dungeon ($14.99, scores 75).
9 of the 573 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written June 2023 to August 2026. That is fewer refunded reviewers than 7 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 698 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 543 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 86 percent of the 398 reviews written there were positive, against 95 percent overall, and those are 6 percent of everything written about it.
HowLongToBeat players log 10.5 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 63, 6.0 times as much.
It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 10.5 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

What players say
This has been a fundamental game to me, and between the best games I ever played. The concept is so damn simple but so satisfying. It has the look, the charming atmosphere and music, and even comedy. The learning curve is nice, even if it's not the best aspect of the game. Infact I think it rise out a bit too abruptly... I think it's on day 6 or 7. But it's nothing, it's just I'm not really a gamer I'm just a casual...
Awesome, tons of replay value, love trying different combinations. For sure pick this up if you are into these kinds of games.
Great game, easy to understand rules while a very in depth strategy on how to handle combat. Proper scaling and difficulty increase options as you get more familiar with the game. It take a little bit of time to know the enemy patterns but once you do its very fair
