The value story
October 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $5.69. Its cuts run 45 percent off as a rule. There have been 19 in the 3 years tracked, about 8 weeks apart. Today's $6.64 at 65 percent off still sits 17 percent above the floor, so a deeper cut exists in its history.
At full price it scores 94. The current cut is what makes it a 97.
On value it sits in the top 1 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 88 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. Among the games closest to it, Rain World ($24.99, scores 82) and Airscape - The Fall of Gravity ($4.99, scores 63) both come in lower.
The math says it holds its tier up to $29.54, and you are being asked for $6.64.
Of the 392 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 7 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2023 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 89 percent of the 192 reviews written there were positive, against 97 percent overall, and those are 5 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
This is genuinely such a great game, when I got into Peaks of Yore it initally frustrated me and I put it back down. But when I came back into it I got into the groove and it completely took my life, being the only thing I wanted to play. The different peaks all tend to have unique challenges and new hazards they introduce to really test you. The final climb of the base game is a genuine challenge of everything...
Very great game. The feeling of accomplishment you get when you reach the summit of a peak, small or big is just great. Good difficulty curve. Beautiful landscapes. Also level editor and workshop is definitely a plus.
its a climbing game where every failure feels like your fault and not bs mechanics and the dopamine rush for completing a hard mountain is amazing
