Picking up shortly after The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Estelle travels across Liberl in search of Joshua. The journey involves more than seeking loved ones, however, as the Bracer Guild also tasks her with unraveling the mysteries behind the newly unveiled Society of Ouroboros.

TitS 1 was a good game. TitS 2 is a very good game. I can't speak for the 3D remakes, but you'd have a great time play the originals. If you played the first chapter and you feel even an inkling about playing more, buy this.
This took what was built in the first game and extended it seven-fold. loved the game, the story, battles, everything.
The second installment takes everything the first game setup and improves upon it. I really enjoyed the plot and characters. They've done a great job creating a large cast of characters while keeping them all interesting and fun. I can see why this game is regarded as among one of the best JRPG's stories around.
