What drives the score

How to read this

Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work

Holding it back
Reviews89% positive
Gates the score. Weak reviews cap it, and nothing reaches BANGER without strong ones Scored as 88% after the small-sample adjustment
Reach75K+ owners
How many own it and play it, by SteamSpy's estimates (an old snapshot), the biggest driver for a game with no ending
Refunds13 of 411 reviews
Well above the typical game's share of reviews from refunded buyers, so the score takes a small dock

Value$0.60/hr
Price per hour of game. This genre scores on player counts instead
Length22 hours
Typical playtime on HowLongToBeat. Endless games score on players, so hours stay out of it

The value story

It has never been cheaper than $5.99. That was June 2024. Its cuts run 40 percent off as a rule. There have been 12 in the 3 years tracked, about 13 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 13 weeks ago.

Value puts it in the top 29 percent of the games it competes with. It is better reviewed than 72 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Paragnosia ($1.99, scores 80) beats it on value, while it beats Platform 8 ($2.79, scores 62).

Of the 411 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 13 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2023 to September 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 698 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 18 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 1 of the 13 refunded reviewers was past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 82 percent of the 216 reviews written there were positive, against 89 percent overall, and those are 21 percent of everything written about it.

What players say

It is genuinely fun. To be honest, having seen many videos on other games from the developer, fun is not what I expected! Don't get me wrong, this game is also really stressful. But fun!!! And I enjoyed the stress, too. Horror-wise, the game managed to REALLY get me a few times. "Dead Signal" is also really appealing visually (I love the way the new Noir people look!), though the graphics are one of my main...

Excellent game that puts a very nice twist on the "I'm On Observation Duty" game loop. Prolly the most fair Reflect Studios game.

As much as I love Reflex Studio games. The numerous bugs in this game seriously undermine the games quality. I've come across at LEAST 10 different run-ending bugs. Anything from bugs like Lucas killing you when there was nothing you could have done about it, to my character being locked up and unable to move or look around, ending my nightmare run. Again, I love Reflex Studio games. They're some of the coolest...
