The value story

The lowest price on record is $2.79, set in August 2025. Its cuts run 30 percent off as a rule. There have been 15 in the 2 years tracked, about 9 weeks apart. Today's $2.79 at 30 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.

This sale is doing real work. 56 at list, 62 today.

On value it sits in the top 7 percent of its genre. It is cheaper than 75 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 91 percent. Among the games that feel like it, The Exit 8 ($3.99, scores 66) beats it on value, while it beats Lost in Anomaly ($3.99, scores 10).

This site sampled 652 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 33 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 414 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 86 percent of the 2,339 reviews written there were positive, against 87 percent overall, and those are 87 percent of everything written about it.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 0.7 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

I really enjoyed Platform 8! I liked that different anomalies required different actions, but figuring out what to do was sometimes a lot of trial and error. I feel like some basic instructions would've helped, because it got a little frustrating at times. I really liked the ending, especially how after finding all the anomalies, it continues into EXIT 8 haha. I played both games one after another, and after being...

An iteration on Exit 8 (to the point that its straight up the same named executable) that I'm not quite sure about. Leans more into "spooky monster encounter, quickly follow the correct rules" engagement instead of the previous "decide direction" mechanic and thus kinda looses out on the "did i actually choose correctly" anticipation. Way better than exit 8 which was a memorize game, it required at some points to remember vague details of the environment, which is annoying since you are guaranteed to start at the beginning every time. I have to say that Platform 8 is an improvement, more of a game, love the horror elements that were added to the game, and especially love how the game added different ways to deal with anomalies instead of going...
