What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
November 2014 is where it bottomed out, at $3.74. Its cuts run 60 percent off as a rule. There have been 88 in the 13 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart. Today's $3.74 at 75 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.
At full price it scores 40. The current cut is what makes it a 52.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 11 percent on value. It is pricier than 86 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 72 percent. On the same math Assassin's Creed® Revelations ($5.99, scores 67) and Assassin's Creed™: Director's Cut Edition ($4.99, scores 61) are the better buys, and they are the games it most resembles.
This site sampled 673 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 5 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 55 percent of the 366 reviews written there were positive, against 78 percent overall, and those are 13 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
super fun short dlc if you liked black flag and rogue you will enjoy this game saving slaves wish there was a bit more but over all super good stand alone game!
Massacred a lot of enemies and showed them the power of a machete. The game was good and I enjoyed acquiring all the achievements, would definitely recommend to others!
AC Freedom Cry feels like a very cheap addition to the AC franchise, developed just quickly and rushed enough to capitalize on the success of Black Flag. There are a number of flaws with this game which hold it back from being either memorable or fun to play. Technical: This game's story took me roughly 6 hours to complete. Within that time, I encountered more bugs than in my entire time playing Black Flag, which is...

Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry scores 52/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/277590/assassin-s-creed-freedom-cryThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 23, price as of Sep 24.
