The value story
June 2026 is where it bottomed out, at $9.99. It has been discounted 10 times in the 2 years tracked here, typically at 40 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales.
Value puts it in the top 45 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 87 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Havendock ($19.99, scores 54) beats it on value, while it beats The Sims™ 2 Legacy Collection ($29.99, scores 30).
The press liked it more than its buyers did, 92 against 73 percent.
61 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written February 2025 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 101 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 5 of the 61 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 54 percent of the 791 reviews written there were positive, against 73 percent overall, and those are 34 percent of everything written about it.

I bought the game because it took me back to my childhood. It transported me back to the places everyone used to go-the PC cafes. I remembered playing it and couldn't wait to go back and play it again and again. I'm glad that, after all these years, I can play it once more on my modern PC.
Spent my childhood playing this game. So happy now to have it on Steam and play it again even if it's just for the sake of nostalgia. It's a challenging game, you have to be really smart about managing your household if you play The Sims as a simulator. Sims die easily and go broke fast, but there are many interesting items and features that eventually teach you how to cheat life in this game. ;D So far the game is...
