An old-fashioned beat 'em up with big doses of adrenaline and trippiness, somewhere between the classic style of Streets of Rage and the ultra-violence of Hotline Miami. Set in a cold, ruthless Soviet Union, Mother Russia Bleeds aims to conjure up anxiety, unease, and drug-addled frenzy.

I played this in 3 player co-op. Fun beat em up with great art and cool moves. Level design is cool with some fun set pieces. 3-4 hour romp that's fairly easy except for a few challenging fights. We knocked it out in two sessions. Didn't lean as heavily into the Russian theme as I expected, nor comment on political ideology much at all. I'm ok with it, but it's different than what I expected from Mother Russia...
While for the most part I WOULD recommend this game to other people; it is relatively easy to get into, it's a fun beat em up, even if very vulgar and violent. It also saves very frequently so if you do die a lot that is useful. However it does have a few things that feel...off about it. But i can't entirely put my finger on what. Perhaps it just how some moments feel VERY unforgiving even by the standards of...

The hitboxes may be imperfect, the mechanics may seem a bit unusual for the genre, but the arcade difficulty and attempt to diversify the bosses fit well with the gameplay. Everything is drawn quite good, especially the environments. However, the setting, theme and dialogues, from a more adult perspective, are completely disgusting, vile, or just...
