I was initially dismissive of *Kathy Rain*. After playing the demo, I thought it felt too much like a weaker imitation of *Gabriel Knight* and the *Blackwell* series. Giving it a second chance changed my mind. The influence is certainly there, but *Kathy Rain* has enough personality of its own. It belongs to that familiar but effective subgenre of supernatural detective adventures: an apparently ordinary mystery...

Set in the '90s, Kathy Rain tells the story of a strong-willed journalism major who has to come to terms with her troubled past as she investigates the mysterious death of her recently deceased grandfather.
