Across all 74 discounts in the 11 years tracked, the median cut is 65 percent, about 6 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 11 days ago.

It is pricier than 98 percent of its genre. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. Jamestown ($9.99, scores 78) and Jets'n'Guns Gold ($7.99, scores 69) both outscore it.

More about DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours

Steam's global achievement data puts about 3 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 0.7-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. This site sampled 319 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 8 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,422 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 168 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. Inside the two-hour refund window, 64 percent of the 188 reviews written there were positive, against 82 percent overall, and those are 26 percent of everything written about it.

Finishing takes 0.7 hours; clearing it takes 265, which is 379 times the campaign.

What players say

I feel duped. I should have bought the base game first, and not all the addons, but the reviews fooled me. The game has only one positive, and that is it's appealing visuals, at first glance, but now that I've played 50+ levels, including a bunch of DLC levels, I can safely say this shooter is severely flawed and not worth any price. Why: 1 The levels are near empty, and crazy repetative. 2. There are maybe 10...

confusing, weird, unfun? there's a million options, and while the mechanics are straightforward, you just feel like you chain levels without purpose. scoring feels pointless, stage design is an afterthought, and bosses get exhausting real quick. on top of that, nothing is explained to you! you can just go in some weird chronicle mode and pick a route / area from some weird grid but none of it makes sense. there's...

had the game for years. bought off of nostalgia. can barely be bothered to hit 43 hrs so far? the level design is poor. beyond being repetative it comes down to just memorising the "correct" way to beat them, it hardly feels like bullet hell when the only way your succeeding is watching a guide that you timed to 2 seconds in advance so you know where your supposed to be.
