I bought this game (on sale) specifically for Galactic Contention. This game clearly has a large, dedicated community of modders that definitely rake in a decent chunk of Squad's recent playerbase. That playerbase gets kicked in the balls every time Squad drops a new update. Why the hell is there no version pinning? It feels like this game was designed with sandbox elements, so shouldn't modders be able to stick to...
For anyone else looking to buy this game purely for Galactic Contention, I can verify that it is well worth the price. GC is the most immersive Star Wars shooter experience currently available, and that fact that it is a free mod is mind blowing. Hats off to the GC dev team.

Squad is a tactical FPS that provides authentic combat experiences through teamwork, communication, and realistic combat. It bridges the gap between arcade shooter and military realism with 100-player battles, combined-arms warfare, and base building.
