Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is the latest entry in the Onechanbara series. Two sets of buxom vampire sisters battle through over a dozen stages of high-octane real-time swordplay. Fight off the invasion in gruesome detail, occasionally transforming into a demon for short bursts of added power and speed.

The value story

It has never been cheaper than $9.59. That was December 2024. Its cuts run 75 percent off as a rule. There have been 74 in the 10 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart.

Value puts it in the top 48 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 77 percent. The games it most resembles do better on the same math. BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut ($14.99, scores 41) and NINJA GAIDEN Σ2 [NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection] ($19.99, scores 35) both outscore it.

Of the 361 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 8 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to September 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,814 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 267 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. Inside the two-hour refund window, 54 percent of the 236 reviews written there were positive, against 79 percent overall, and those are 26 percent of everything written about it.

5.7 hours to finish it, 24 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 4.2 times the campaign.

What players say

It's one of the best hack and slash games I've ever played. The combos, the visuals, the sound effects and the soundtracks are all so amazing. The story's really fun with the lore and the characters makes the game even more fun. Every character has their own personality and they all feel different from each other. The story telling is awesome with comic style cutscenes and in-game cutscenes. The best part about this...

It's the gaming equivalent of junk food, but sometimes that's what you need. Fun characters, decent combat (especaially for a Tamsoft game), and a story that doesn't take itself too seriously. I like Saki the most. It's fun to punch things, and the parry is satisfying. There are definitely some issues, though. The gameplay, while fun, can get a little too frantic. It's not nearly as refined as Onechanbara Origin...

It's as the title suggests. It's chaos. Most of the time you won't know what's going on on screen, you'll just keep attacking until everything is dead. The game is plenty fun though despite its rough edges: 4 girls, 2 weapons (+ one subweapon) each, a bunch of different combos and the possibility to call all 4 of them on screen. Recommended, but if you're on the fence between this and Onee Chanbara Origin, i'd...
