The value story
The lowest price on record is $2.99, set in February 2026. 65 discounts in the 10 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart.
Value puts it in the top 13 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 94 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 92 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Sonic Mania ($19.99, scores 65) beats it on value, while it beats Sonic Origins ($29.99, scores 34).
This site sampled 384 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 4 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written May 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 80 percent of the 377 reviews written there were positive, against 87 percent overall, and those are 42 percent of everything written about it.
It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 5.8 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

What players say
Fun replaying all of them again and doing all the achievements. I used to beat these as a kid, now they feel even easier as an adult. Be nice if they added Goof Troop. Such a fun game.... oh and bonkers too, I guess.
The star of this collection (for me anyway) is definitely Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers. As someone who played these games on those chinese NES rip-off consoles, it brought back a lot of fond memories. Except DarkWing Duck. WTF. I do not know how we had patience to deal with BS like that in the 90s.
Good collection. But I can't recommend this since the Switch 2 version added Bonkers and Goof Troop. Like we really couldn't get them as DLC on other platforms?
