The value story

June 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $7.99. Its cuts run 75 percent off as a rule. There have been 53 in the 6 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart.

Value puts it in the top 12 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 97 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 73 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Survivalist ($4.99, scores 59) beats it on value, while it beats Force of Nature ($7.99, scores 44).

20 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 3,162 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 471 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 44 percent of the 1,384 reviews written there were positive, against 79 percent overall, and those are 14 percent of everything written about it.

Finishing takes 19.6 hours; clearing it takes 51, which is 2.6 times the campaign.

What players say

📝 Slowly learning to use new tools, discovering the map, and trying to survive in the wild make this game unique. ➕ Pros The evolution system is incredibly satisfying. Slowly discovering new abilities makes your progress feel meaningful. Exploration is one of the best parts of the game. The world is beautiful, dangerous, and full of things to discover. Figuring things out yourself makes every discovery feel...

If you enjoy games that don't hold your hand and needing to figure things out on your own, then this is the game for you. There is a first-timer mode for brand new players that gives you a few basic objectives to push you in the right direction, but the great majority of the experience will see you taking initiative to explore the world, discover resources and creatures, and figure out what those resources are good...

I think the game is very cool, gameplay wise and visual wise.. However.. - I don't think the game is bad, visually nor gameplay. But rather what the game itself has to offer - i'd more of rate it neutral. It's a challenging game, with huge learning curves and a lot to explore and adapt to. You can craft simple tools, and form groups to move through obstacles better, and evolve and adapt until you reach the final...
