What players say
The bones of Phantom Brigade are great. I really enjoy the mech building and the prediction mechanic. Having everything play out all at once is fantastic. It sounds cool but the actual balancing is non-existent and the mech customization is confusing at best with weapons of the same quality and name having different stats all together. My first mission right after the tutorial ended with all my pilots dying because a spear-gun mech sniped my entire squad through multiple buildings before I had a chance to get to it, forcing me to restart the campaign. This was right...
It's like XCOM but with a timeline instead of phases, and mechs/pilots instead of soldiers. Definitely recommended, especically if you're into mechs. Looks like it's come a really long way since it's release.
