The value story
The lowest price on record is $7.49, set in November 2023. Its cuts run 50 percent off as a rule. There have been 73 in the 8 years tracked, about 6 weeks apart.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 1 percent on value. It is pricier than 95 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Two Point Museum ($29.99, scores 90) beats it on value, while it beats Aquarist ($15.99, scores 59).
Critics scored it 69. Players sit 26 points higher at 95 percent, which usually means a game that plays better than it reviews.
Steam's global achievement data puts under 1 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 22.8-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. Of the 398 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 9 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 61 percent of the 215 reviews written there were positive, against 95 percent overall, and those are 6 percent of everything written about it.
22.8 hours to finish it, 49 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 2.2 times the campaign.
The drop-off
72% start to <1% finishSteam counts fewer than one in ten of its players at the ending achievement. On a 22.8-hour game, that's a lot you pay for and may never use. Steam global achievements

This is my favorite building/management game so far. The detail put into the different species and care requirements is obvious. I'd prefer if I could choose delete employee level up mail without investing the skill point or set a maximum employee level, because I like to focus their talents on one or two areas rather than level them up through every skill but that is a minor issue that doesn't lessen my enjoyment...
A Fantastic Game for Fish Lovers I absolutely love fish, so Megaquarium feels like a game that was made specifically for a big part of who I am. It scratches that perfect combination of creativity, management and my obsession with aquatic life. It's the kind of game you can sink hours and hours into without even noticing, and the art style is just wonderful. There's something incredibly satisfying about building...
Love this game! A great management/building game for aquarium lovers. The base game provides many hours of content if you really dig into each level, so don't fret if you cannot get the DLC (though I think they are worth it if you play through the base game and enjoy it, especially if you can grab them on sale).
