The value story

June 2026 is where it bottomed out, at $20.09. Its cuts run 20 percent off as a rule. There have been 10 in the 2 years tracked, about 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 5 weeks ago.

On value it sits in the top 1 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 96 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Minami Lane ($2.49, scores 97) beats it on value, while it beats Two Point Campus ($29.99, scores 69).

The math says it holds its tier up to $46.78, and you are being asked for $29.99.

The press gave it 84; the people who bought it give it 95 percent. An 11-point gap in the buyer's favour.

Of the 744 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 22 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written February 2025 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 77 percent of the 344 reviews written there were positive, against 95 percent overall, and those are 4 percent of everything written about it.

Finishing takes 46.7 hours; clearing it takes 97, which is 2.1 times the campaign.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating, which is the one that means it just works.

What players say

I honestly didn't expect Two Point Museum to be this enjoyable, especially coming from someone who spends a lot of time with history and archaeology, what I like most is the way the game makes collecting and interpreting the past part of the actual gameplay. You send expeditions into the field, recover fossils, artefacts and specimens, bring them back to the museum and then decide how they should be displayed and...

I came for the management sim, stayed because I'm apparently a sucker for digital hoarding with a capitalist speedrun attached. Two Point Studios figured out the formula: wrap naked greed in whimsy and suddenly looting history feels wholesome. You're a glorified fence. Send expendable staff to ransack archaeological sites (half won't come back, natural selection in action), dump the stolen goods in a building, and...

I really enjoyed this game until i was forced to start a second location, then i lost all interest. I just wanted to relax a build a museum, not deal with the burden of managing multiple locations just so my main one can advance.
