Desperados III is a story-driven, hardcore tactical stealth game, set in a ruthless Wild West scenario. Play smart if you want to succeed. A good plan can make the difference between survival and finding yourself at the business end of a pistol.
What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
The lowest price on record is $3.99, set in September 2025. 45 discounts in the 6 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 7 weeks apart. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 14 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 7 weeks. It becomes a BANGER at $37.86, a level the record has reached 44 times.
Value puts it in the top 1 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 99 percent. It outscores the games it most resembles, including Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun ($39.99, scores 82) and Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice ($19.99, scores 57).
The press gave it 86; the people who bought it give it 97 percent. An 11-point gap in the buyer's favour.
Of the 706 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 7 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written June 2020 to September 2026. That is fewer refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,864 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 2,457 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 86 percent of the 581 reviews written there were positive, against 97 percent overall, and those are 5 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 26.8 hours. Doing everything runs 65, 2.4 times as long.

What players say
A perfect tactical stealth puzzle game. There isn't anything better on the market, so it's an easy recommendation.
Just rolled credits. RIP Mimimi. Fantastic game design - I just picked this up again after having not played it for a few years, and picked it up straight away; very intuitive interface and controls. A mark of fantastic design. I wish you guys all the best in whatever you're doing now. I hope the studio can re-form and you can make great games like these again.
Boring puzzle game, not a stealth combat game. Repetitive gameplay loop with little room for imagination. As other reviews pointed out, if 99% of your players solve a scenario in the same way, it's a puzzle game, not a tactical stealth game. Graphics are okay for a unity game, but the art style gives this impression of blurriness and bad contrasts to me. It's too far along the realism side of the art style spectrum...

Desperados III scores 84/100 on the BANG Score (worth it). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/610370/desperados-iiiThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 17, price as of Sep 24.
