The other benchmark. FTL and this one are the two games I hold every roguelike up against, and most of what comes out does not make it. People call this a deckbuilder and it is, but I think that undersells it. It is a decision game. The cards are just how the decisions show up. What Slay the Spire understands, and what most of its imitators never do, is that every card you take is a bet on where the run is going...

played this on the Amtrak ride from Boston this morning and had a 74 year old lady absolutely captivated by what she was seeing. never been into deck builders but this game really does slap.
100% transpancy, I've pirated this game ages ago and sunk hundreds of hours. Now i have the money and Buy this game to support the devs. THANK YOU for blessing my life with this beautiful game. This game is my first exposure to deck building and roguelite as a whole. I LOVE YOU
