The value story
It has never been cheaper than $1.99. That was March 2026. 54 discounts in the 7 years on record. They run about 60 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart.
It is pricier than 82 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 71 percent. Among the games that feel like it, UNSIGHTED ($19.99, scores 69) beats it on value, while it beats Morbid: The Seven Acolytes ($24.99, scores 27).

What players say
It's definitely an acquired taste, but if you like old-school feeling pixel souls-likes (timing, dodging is paramount) with very little hand-holding, this has a very eery vibe, grim religious theme and cool boss-fights.
Its a great game if you are into dungeon crawling. I will go ahead and highlight some cons 1. The initial controls suck and I mean suck. Tried on numerous occassions to change button binds to no avail. Fortunately, was able to pull a controller configuration from the community. Then I only had to change 2 buttons to get what I needed. 2. The map sucks. If only they drew lines in the map to tell you how many floors...
Is this game fun? Yes. Can you play this game with no guides? Yes. Will the start of this game confuse you for about 20 minutes? Yes Will you find a way to roll and "kill" enemies when you want to cheese something? Yes. Will you beat the game and then discover you can do missions for gear and items missing all of it that would be helpful for beathing the game? Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. Is this game worth buying...
