The value story
It has never been cheaper than $0.99. That was November 2025. 32 discounts in the 8 years on record. They run about 80 percent off, roughly 11 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 52 weeks ago.
Value puts it in the top 5 percent of the games it competes with. It is cheaper than 93 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 86 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Killer Instinct (free, scores 66) beats it on value, while it beats Mortal Kombat 11 ($49.99, scores 40).
11 of the 406 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,802 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 516 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 74 percent of the 337 reviews written there were positive, against 83 percent overall, and those are 39 percent of everything written about it.

What players say
WORTH THE PRICE DROP, DESPITE DROUGHT OF CONTENT. This cost like a single game in actual arcade, and with the admission of 3 games you can afford Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series. The Good (from best to least): +For something sized around 3gb the game looks pretty, especially the environments, what kind of compression trickery ARIKA used? +has training mode +programmable multiple button...
It's been an average fighting game for a long time, a small number of fighters, an uncomplicated plot, a small number of blows. The game is purely for familiarization, there are much more interesting fighting games.
I'm not sure why this game has decent reviews. As far as fighting games go, this one is actual garbage. The whole thing feels clunky/shoddy and phoned-in; and of course it's jam-packed with DLC. I really recommend you DO NOT buy this game; there are countless good fighting games out there for you to try, and this is definitely not one of them
