More about HELLGATE: London
The press liked it more than its buyers did, 70 against 57 percent.
17 of the 677 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to October 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,422 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 169 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 2 of the 17 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 44 percent of the 489 reviews written there were positive, against 57 percent overall, and those are 22 percent of everything written about it.
What players say
Half baked game with tons of potential. Since I was kid I loved the idea and the cinematics. But that is where it end. ACT 1 is interesting as you delve in and learn the mechanics and equipment. After that... Slugfest. All is same. Nothing changes. Here and there new enemies but nothing is different to point where you start.
