The value story

The lowest price on record is $7.99, set in April 2026. Its cuts run 50 percent off as a rule. There have been 35 in the 5 years tracked, about 7 weeks apart.

Against its own genre it lands in the top 45 percent on value. It is pricier than 92 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 62 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Total War: THREE KINGDOMS ($39.99, scores 60) beats it on value, while it beats A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA ($19.99, scores 28).

Of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 17 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written April 2022 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 7 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,814 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 884 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 43 percent of the 364 reviews written there were positive, against 72 percent overall, and those are 11 percent of everything written about it.

The main story runs 35.1 hours. Doing everything runs 80, 2.3 times as long.

What players say

What can i say? as someone who played Total War games before this one is 100% on of the best! Loved the uniqueness of the fractions, Heroes, Agents and Gods favors, Its a bit challenging at first but once you get the hang of it it will become very enjoyable especially after watching Trojan War/ The Odyssey. My only problems is the fights is a little bit meh Rome 2 did it better and The MYTHOS DLC is pricey for how...

Tried it back when it was free on Epic store and wasn't hooked by it. Came back years later and found myself really enjoying the game. I like how I can switch between a more Warhammer total war feeling with the mythic mode or if I want a more historic feel you can go with the historic mode. There are some things that I personally do not like such as the antagonist feature. I wouldn't be so back if when you got rid...

After the initial hours, the campaign starts to feel repetitive, and there isn't enough strategic decision-making to keep things interesting. What frustrates me even more is how the AI behaves. Enemy armies can move around your territory with seemingly no meaningful cost or consequence. Instead of...
