This game has to be the definition of mid while still being fun - or rather it is really good in certain mechanics and sucks in others. The switching of Cultures with the large amount of choices and skills is great. Visually the game looks good, the combat itself is well thought out (but kinda slow at times). BUT, the war mechanic, while being more realistic just hinders progress if you dont completely outclass your...
It had a rocky launch. But over the years the game has gotten better and better. Of the current civ and civ clone games it is up there with the greats. I would recommend this game more than civ 6. Amplitude deserves the crown more than Firaxis.
This is so boring, I couldn't even bring myself to finish my first game! Pick the Harappans in the Ancient era, then the Maya in the Classical era, and you're on track for a guaranteed victory. The rest of the game just consists of clicking the "next round" button.
