The value story
It has never been cheaper than $7.49. That was January 2026. 35 discounts in the 6 years on record. They run about 60 percent off, roughly 9 weeks apart.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 7 percent on value. It is pricier than 96 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 83 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Crisis in the Kremlin ($4.99, scores 67) beats it on value, while it beats Democracy 3 ($24.99, scores 39).
32 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2022 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 8 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,725 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 441 have a larger share. Inside the two-hour refund window, 56 percent of the 633 reviews written there were positive, against 82 percent overall, and those are 11 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 6.8 hours; clearing it takes 39, which is 5.7 times the campaign.
Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 6.8 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

What players say
Great political simulation which emphasizes on cause and effect and how policies can effect the economy, voting or society. There is also alot of ideological freedom as the game does well in avoiding a political bias which gives players the ability to govern through their own preference.
I like the interactive results of polisies that has effects in different groups, sometimes you dont know an crisis or positive result for the country until you adjust polisies to affect something to an great degree resulting in re-adjustmenst and other factors. The integration feels relistic to real polisie results and not being able to keep everyone happy with every polisy provided.
Loads of options for policies but the actual issues thrown at you are stale af, like outdated US culture war stuff (gay dude getting refused a cake) popping up even when you're playing UK. The economic system in this game is also just bad. GDP caps out at a certain point which obviously isnt how an economy works, and it basically always trends down no matter what you do. I understand they wanted to copy a cyclical...
