What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $9.89. That was April 2026. Its cuts run 50 percent off as a rule. There have been 27 in the 3 years tracked, about 5 weeks apart. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 3 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 5 weeks.
Against its own genre it lands in the top 7 percent on value. It is pricier than 97 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 86 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Subnautica: Below Zero ($29.99, scores 71) beats it on value, while it beats The Solus Project ($19.99, scores 49).
Steam's global achievement data says about 11 percent of players ever finish it. On a 21.3-hour game, that is a lot of paid-for hours most people never see. Of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 24 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written December 2025 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 43 percent of the 1,767 reviews written there were positive, against 83 percent overall, and those are 8 percent of everything written about it.
The main story runs 21.3 hours. Doing everything runs 48, 2.3 times as long.

What players say
I love this game because it fits perfectly in my day as a Freelancer. The Jukebox has a awesome Indie Songs Collection with amazing random game-related intermissions, perfect as background while I work. My day: - Wake up - Coffee - Juke Box - Work - Driving for my live, out of the Storm, racing between Trees into the Light, screaming "Emeeergency"....) - Fix the car - Household/Kids - Sleep - Repeat
my first ever review for a game. and it bloody well deserves it. at first i watched a youtuber play it and thought, this looks interesting. it hit several spots of my monkey brain. those being ( loot goblin tendencies, driving, and spookiness without full on horror) at first i played the first mission to get to oppy's garage and next thing i know ive got 8 hours in the game, its got the loot goblin in me hooked, its...
I love the concept, and I love the idea of a super customisable vehicle being the centrepiece of the game. It's a shame the gameplay is so dull. There is no combat, just avoid stuff that hurts you and scrap stuff for resources. The ultra poor durability of my tools got old fast. Just make them last forever, having them break every 5 minutes is just irritating, focus the resource usage on upgrades and meaningful...

Pacific Drive scores 58/100 on the BANG Score (fair value). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1458140/pacific-driveThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Aug 2, price as of Sep 23.
