Minimum on the Steam store: 4 GB of memory, GeForce GTX 960 6GB / AMD RX 570 4GB or newer, 6 GB of storage. Windows only.

Adrenaline-pumping gore retro funhouse that’s full of guns, magic, demons, vertical arenas, 3D visuals, 2D sprites, and heavy metal music. Inspired by FPS classics like Quake and Doom 64, Project Warlock II is the explosive boomer shooter sequel you were too shy to ask for.

The value story

May 2025 is where it bottomed out, at $8.49. Its cuts run 33 percent off as a rule. There have been 44 in the 4 years tracked, about 5 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended 8 days ago.

Against its own genre it lands in the top 41 percent on value. It is pricier than 64 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Ion Fury ($24.99, scores 67) beats it on value, while it beats Hellbound ($14.99, scores 11).

Steam's global achievement data puts about 10 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 9.2-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. This site sampled 539 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 7 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written June 2022 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 71 percent of the 249 reviews written there were positive, against 81 percent overall, and those are 20 percent of everything written about it.

The main story runs 9.2 hours. Doing everything runs 35, 3.8 times as long.

Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 9.2 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

What players say

Game is very fun, but final episode is alot shorter than the previous 2 which is very disapointing. Still buy on sale.

If you like classic style shoot'em-up games with tons of nostalgia-inducing pixelated gore, this game is for you! I loved the first game and I love this one too! If I had to complain, I think I liked the soundtrack more with the first game. This one is still good, but it just doesn't have that same dungeon synth vibe in some of the first levels. It's more action-oriented and less atmospheric.

After finishing EP1 with Palmer and getting to EP2 with Urd the game's fun factor (for me at least) has dropped like crazy. Every single level/area in EP2 so far has been a literally large fxcking area or longer corridor with some extremely clustered spaces indoors, most levels are 20 minutes when i've been looking for secrets as well and i will still literally find nothing, because i suppose most of these secrets...
