This is one of the best strategy games of all time. War in the East 2 is a deep simulation of the Eastern Front of WW2 from 1941 - 1945. What makes this game brilliant is that although it is ostensibly very complex and daunting, new players can easily get away with only having a superficial understanding of the game while still being able to have a blast. Once you downgrade the germans to the lowest level on the balance screen you have a good game. Like almost all games on the russo german war the germans are made far far too strong. When you read the letters and diaries of the germans officers and men you find that the war against russia was hard from the first week and much harder then the campaigns against the poles french and english.
The fact that developers are aware of immersion-breaking AI movement and are completely disinterested in fixing the thing along with their tone-deaf responses is discouraging from playing WITE2
