Armored Core veteran here, it is easy to see how much influence their recent games have had on AC (not a bad thing, it's just a different flavor) but one thing that has never changed is the extraordinary musical score, a grim yet hopeful world and peerless build freedom. FromSoftware's best game. I was never really into mechs growing up, transformers sure but I don't hold a lot of nostalgia for the genre or anything. I also never bothered watching mech anime in my adult life. But AC6 has done something to my brain that I can't explain; I'm one bad decision of getting into gunpla. This game is actually goated, it just scratches that itch most other games never really could get. There...
I want to like this game so badly, I really do... the vast majority of it is genuinely incredible, but it's somewhat ruined by handful of missions (or more specifically bosses) that have a genuinely absurd difficulty spike that then goes straight back down to normal after you get past it. The bosses feel like they're purposefully made unfair, compared to literally everything else in the game which is honestly so...
