This game has been a random pick which I do not regret in the slightest. Despite being released in 2018, it still has a lot to offer for an aspiring strategist. You manage a mercenary company in two of the available three modes of play. The last one being a quick skirmish against AI or another fellow strategist. I didn't try the multiplayer. You need a Paradox account and I assume there won't be many people sticking...
Battletech is, quite frankly, a slog. There are a ton of stans out there who will argue me under the table about "doing it wrong" - don't care. It's a slog. The skull ratings are out of whack, go by pay. Even then the pay is not always a reliable barometer. Some mission types are just horrendously unfun (looking at you, Attack and Defend.)
