The value story
It has never been cheaper than $9.99. That was June 2025. Its cuts run 35 percent off as a rule. There have been 38 in the 4 years tracked, about 5 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 3 weeks ago.
Value puts it in the top 27 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 75 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 67 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Cat God Ranch ($5.99, scores 76) beats it on value, while it beats Roguebook ($24.99, scores 60).
The press gave it 76; the people who bought it give it 86 percent. A 10-point gap in the buyer's favour.
16 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written January 2024 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 70 percent of the 462 reviews written there were positive, against 86 percent overall, and those are 6 percent of everything written about it.
HowLongToBeat players log 12.6 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 58, 4.6 times as much.
