What players say
Where every other MMO is rushing you constantly to endgame, pelting you with plodding cutscenes, or making you cross zone after empty zone, and combat is a repetitive chore of no challenge or interest, DDO stands absolutely unique. My characters all disappeared when they went to 64 bit client/servers. At least my account purchases didnt change. Bit complicated and different from your typical mmorpg out there. Plan your character before committing all I can say. Lots and Lots of content (can feel kinda lost at times), but requires sub to play them (adventure packs) or outright purchase them (expansions and or adventure packs if you are f2p)...
Downloaded it today to see if I would enjoy it. I couldn't even get the game to let me in. The patcher is beyond broken. I somehow have hours on this so I know it worked at some point but if they can't get a patcher to work with steam then has to be an intolerable mess to begin with.
