What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
About the game
This VR Journey takes you to the 'behind the scenes' of the Universe. Beyond a door lies a barren landscape inhabited by strange rocky heads. Here, the maintenance and heavy lifting required keeps existence stable and temporal. You are a tourist. Don't do anything foolish.
Minimum specs
Minimum on the Steam store: 12 GB of memory, RTX 2060, 25 GB of storage. Windows only.
The value story

More about The Utility Room
7 of the 266 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written February 2023 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 2,362 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 227 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. Inside the two-hour refund window, 84 percent of the 209 reviews written there were positive, against 85 percent overall, and those are 79 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 1.6 hours; clearing it takes 4, which is 2.3 times the campaign.

What players say
Weird, unsettling, and a bit silly. Overall it's a decent experience, some of the landscapes are amazing and really show the potential VR has to convey scale. Pick this up on a sale and you won't regret it.

First VR game i ever completed. Would recommend for fans of megalophobia. The ending was really weird.
This is such a surreal experience. Imagine seeing something ginormous and having an idea of how far away it might be, only to realize it's actually much much larger than you first thought, and is therefore farther away than you initially thought. Then imagine getting a lecture from God, without him ever saying a word. That's what this game is like.
