I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game since Dynasty Warriors 4 on PS2, so I'm basically coming into Origins fresh after more than 20 years away from the series. About 5 hours in, I'm having an absolute blast. The core appeal I remember is definitely still here: jump into a huge battlefield, carve through ridiculous numbers of soldiers, hunt down officers, and somehow turn yourself into a one-man army. The Good: It's got the same old hack and slash goodness we come to the franchise for. Aside from spending resources on special attacks, parrying with a window that feels rather reasonable is your main source of advantage in combat.
