More about Old School
15 of the 374 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2023 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 795 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 55 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 1 of the 15 refunded reviewers was past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 73 percent of the 150 reviews written there were positive, against 84 percent overall, and those are 34 percent of everything written about it.
Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, and at 12 hours it is short enough to finish on one.

The most specific way I can explain it is if you were in Postal 2 but replacing the guns with MDickie's signature wrestling mechanics. You play one of three classes of character, either a student, teacher, or civilian. My initial playthrough was as in-game character Dominic Striker...

Old school is a childhood game and I luv it!!! (READ THIS IF YOU'RE STRUGGLING TO CONNECT YOUR CONTROLLER) Old school wont register your PS4 controller or PS5 controller, only XBOX. But I have a fix! (This is just how to connect to bluetooth so ignore this if you don't need it.) To connect the controller, hold the power button, aka the one shaped like the logo, and the share button at the same time. If you don't...
I love MDickie games, but this one was unfortunately a miss for me. It's just way too fast-paced, a ton of the problems could be solved just by slowing the clock down significantly, but unfortunately that isn't an option. The chaotic nature of MD games just doesn't translate well to a school environment where everything is organized and structured, and you're punished severely for engaging with the more fun aspects...
