What drives the score

How to read this

Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work

About the game

The 16-bit nightmare returns. Survive, hide, and avoid the deadly Scissorman in this legendary horror classic.
Description from the Steam store page.
Minimum specs

Minimum on the Steam store: 4 GB of memory, 2 GB of storage. Windows only.

The value story

11 discounts in the 2 years on record, a median of 30 percent off across all of them, roughly 8 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 16 weeks ago.

Value puts it in the top 23 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 86 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 85 percent. Fear the Spotlight ($19.99, scores 67) outscores it, and so does Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit ($19.99, scores 66). Both sit among its closest neighbours.

More about Clock Tower: Rewind

Steam's global achievement data puts about 6 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 3.5-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. Of the 354 Steam-purchase reviews this site sampled, 9 come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2024 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 1,627 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 57 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 1 of the 9 refunded reviewers was past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 67 percent of the 113 reviews written there were positive, against 88 percent overall, and those are 25 percent of everything written about it.

The main story runs 3.5 hours. Doing everything runs 10, 2.7 times as long.

What players say

Clock Tower: Rewind it's not just a classic retro, horror game, it's a great re-release of a classic that was never released overseas, done by the ever talented developers of WayForward who have released or remade games like River City girls and the Shantae series, but let's talk about the story. Deep in the mountainous regions of Europe four young orphaned girls are adopted by a mysterious benefactor named Mr...

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. The new additions brought in by the Deluxe fan patch, including the restored cut content and fully reworked chase system add so much to the game both gameplay-wise and content-wise. Every time you play through it's a new experience. Definitely recommend for those interested in point-and-click adventures or classic horror.
