I'm no authority but I've played all of them: 13 and 13-2 are my favorite Final Fantasy games; I prefer 13-2. The story is compelling and the gameplay holds up extraordinarily well. Throughout and even into very late post game, you are still chasing meaningful improvement and can find fun and rewarding challenges. The visuals hold up well, the environments are diverse and interesting, the soundtrack is tremendous...

Another massive disappointment. After the truck of shit that was FFXIII-1, this is a clear improvement. It's a night and day difference. But while XIII-1 was super bad, this one is pure mid. I hate the combat that basically plays itself. I think it's the worst combat in the franchise. I hate the camera. The areas. The story is bullshit, and the characters are terrible aside from Snow, Lightning, and Caius (though in...
After struggling just to launch the game (once again), it is generally better than the first one, though the PC port remains terrible. While the core features improved, combat feels average and the new mob spawns are just annoying. Ultimately, the story is still the only real reason to play. Aside from the startup issues, the biggest flaw is the audio, which is an inconsistent mess.
