The most relaxing survival game that I have ever encountered, Arctico is equal parts Arctic exploration, gentle survival simulation, and base-building experience. Traverse its frozen wilderness on foot, by dogsled, and even by glider, gradually expanding one's small outpost while exploring the quiet, windswept, snow-covered landscape. Survival mechanics are present, but they rarely feel punishing or oppressive...
I found this game while looking for content to play with my son (who is 5). At first glance, I thought this would be a perfect fit. There is nothing violent at all in this game, one of the big selling points for me, that and open world. The dog sledding was a nice touch for movement, but the land is pretty large and takes time to move around. We got some good laughs in, but the game lacks content and still needs...
It's not very good. Basic, taped together, lacking in a lot of basic quality of life, UI, or even really a sense of enjoyability. All content is sort of awkward to interact with and doesn't even really improve with friends, if anything it somehow gets worse. I hope it gets better but after 4 years I'm not really sure if it will, which is sad because I did like the concept.
