I recommend Supreme Commander 2, and it's no where nearly as bad as a lot of people online have made it out to be. My impression hardcore fans of the OG Supreme commander and its DLC/Expansion Forged Alliance weren't happy with developers simplifying the gameplay mechanics, scope and gigantic unit count of the OG Sup Com and its Forged Alliance sequel, to make it more RTS newbie/beginner friendly.
