The value story
The lowest price on record is $3.99, set in March 2023. Its cuts run 75 percent off as a rule. There have been 53 in the 8 years tracked, about 7 weeks apart.
It is pricier than 72 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 84 percent. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart ($23.99, scores 66) outscores it, and so does Tomb Raider I (1996) ($6.99, scores 56). Both sit among its closest neighbours.
This site sampled 712 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 5 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written March 2020 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 50 percent of the 260 reviews written there were positive, against 63 percent overall, and those are 18 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 12.2 hours; clearing it takes 37, which is 3.0 times the campaign.

This could be a 9/10, 15-20-hour indie game, but unfortunately, it's a 30-40-hour, playtime-padded AAA grind that finds new ways to annoy you every time you start having some genuine fun, and, depending on how much fun you have with the fun bits and how annoyed you get with the annoying bits, is a 7/10 at best but could also be as low as a 5/10. At its heart, it's another attempt at creating a hybrid of a...
Recore is a solid 3D platformer and collectathon. Controls and movement are tight and exploration is fun. Main heroine Joule and her robot companions are cute. Mixed rating is too harsh. Sure, the pacing could've been better, and in 20 hrs playthrough I had one crash and one minor visual bug, but other than that it's a good game.
It was fun only because I cheated. This game is heavy on the platforming, and I mean HEAVY. Otherwise, the vibes and gameplay are a combination of Horizon, Planet Crafter, Enslaved, and Tron. What it severely lacks is the ability to change keybindings - there isn't even a config file!. Here's hoping the sequel includes this option.
